How CyberCrunch makes money

CyberCrunch is free to read. We pay for it with affiliate commissions: when you buy a product after following a link from this site, the company may pay us a percentage of the sale. That commission costs you nothing extra, and in most cases the link carries a discount the provider has agreed with us.

What a commission does not buy

A provider cannot pay to be ranked higher, cannot pay to be included, and cannot pay to have a criticism removed. We do not send scores, drafts or review text to a provider before publication, and we do not let commercial teams read a review before it goes live.

Our rankings come from measurements we run ourselves — speed on real consumer lines, leak tests, kill-switch tests, support-response timings and renewal-price maths. Where a provider we earn nothing from is the better product, it is ranked above the ones that pay us. Where we cannot test something, we say so rather than guess.

How we handle prices

Prices shown are the lowest advertised rate for the longest plan at the time of testing, in US dollars. Providers change pricing often, and a promotional rate almost always renews higher — we weigh the renewal price, not the teaser, when we score value. Always confirm the current price and terms on the provider's own checkout page before you buy.

Links and labelling

Commercial links are marked up as sponsored links in the page's HTML. If you would rather not use them, you can always search for the provider directly — our scores and write-ups say the same thing either way.
